The Portland Gear Hub is a non-profit, community bike shop. We get more people on bikes — for transportation, for health, for sustainability, and for community. - We donate bikes to people who need them most, - We sell bikes as affordably as we can, - We teach people how to ride bikes safely and confidently and how to fix them, and - We run community events, a volunteer program, and lead community rides. In 2025 we refurbished 1,300 used bikes, donated 439 of them to adults and children across Maine, sold 800 as affordably as we can, and had over 1000 people attend Open Bench Time to learn how to maintain their bike. By donating, you support our work getting more people on bikes! Donations may be made when reserving your ticket on this site or at ride check-in. This is an unsupported, go at your own pace ride with 1 rest stop. Turns/directions are marked on roads, and queue sheets are available at check-in.
